1920s English Pocket Watch

Just collected back my pocket watch that went into Service. It is hard to find good watchmaker that will not break an arm or a leg. Finally, I was introduced to another watchmaker. I am glad with his work. How I wish I have taken the picture before to show you the difference but anyway. Here is the final product.

Rolex Prince should always be in a Royal Collection

Rolex was founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London. Rolex watches have automatic, manual and quartz movements. There are other vintage brands of watches that are made by Rolex Watch Company; some examples are Unicorn, Viceroy and Tudor. The below is a revival of the 1930s model of Rolex Prince in recent year. Guess what is the price of the watch sold in the used market?

If you have one of the Vintage Rolex Prince in your collection, you will be very happy to know that that they are highly collectible and they are more valuable that the modern ones.

WWI Trench Watch and their beginning

Pocketwatches are bulky for soldiers in the field and can limit the soldiers need to access to their watches while their hands were occupied in the trenches. The earlier model of trench watches are modification of pocketwatches with wire lugs wielded around the case to hold the leather straps. The case are usually in gun metal or steel or silver. The dial is usually porcelain.

A Typical WWI Trench Wrist Watch.

A smaller Pocket Watch Crown for winding.

Pictures of the soldier's love ones and the case has silver hallmark.

The back of the silver case and the visible of the wire lugs.
